In IChing Fengshui, the South West sector is represented by 坤卦 (Kun Gua) and the North East sector by 艮卦 (Gen Gua) – both governed by the Earth element (五行土). These two sectors are traditionally regarded as pillars of stability, nourishment and long-term prosperity.

That said, Fengshui does not end with external landforms alone.
Internal Fengshui is equally critical. The shape of the unit, the efficiency of the floor plan and especially the floor level at which the home is located all play a defining role in how Auspicious Energy is received and retained.
In essence:
When both internal and external Fengshui are Auspicious – 吉中有吉, a true layering of good fortune.
When the external Fengshui is strong but the internal is less ideal – 凶中有吉, where supportive landforms continue to uplift.
When both internal and external Fengshui are unfavourable – 凶中有凶, resulting in compounded ‘challenges’.
