Luxury Living in Perfect Fengshui Harmony
1A and 1B Sophia Road, Singapore 228149
The Collective at One Sophia is an exclusive new mixed-use development by SingHaiyi, thoughtfully designed to redefine modern city living. One Sophia forms the vibrant commercial and retail hub, while The Collective at One Sophia rises above as a refined residential enclave offering an elegant selection of Studios, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom homes.
Prestigiously located at 1 Sophia Road in Singapore’s coveted District 9, The Collective at One Sophia presents a sophisticated lifestyle where living, working and leisure seamlessly converge. Designed for discerning urban dwellers, it offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a dynamic yet elevated “live, work and play” experience – effortlessly connected, impeccably curated and distinctly luxurious.
More importantly, this is not simply another new condominium entering the marketplace. It is a thoughtfully positioned residence created for those who value more than aesthetics alone – for individuals who understand that where you live can quietly influence the trajectory of your career, prosperity, good health and long-term success.
For discerning homeowners and investors, considering Auspicious Fengshui Principles is an essential part of selecting the right residential property.

At the heart of it all lies a single, defining question: Does this new condominium possess true Auspicious Distinction in District 9?
In my earlier articles on 8@BT and Upperhouse @ Orchard Boulevard, I have touched on the fundamentals of IChing Fengshui and its guiding Principles. In this piece, I shall turn the spotlight to The Collective at One Sophia where the South West and North East sectors also stand out as exceptionally promising, forming a rare and powerful alignment within the development.
(The remaining sectors are likewise favourably positioned)
In IChing Fengshui, the South West sector is represented by 坤卦 (Kun Gua) and the North East sector by 艮卦 (Gen Gua) – both governed by the Earth element (五行土). These two sectors are traditionally regarded as pillars of stability, nourishment and long-term prosperity.
What makes this new condominium particularly Auspicious is the presence of strong and directly aligned nearby external features that actively support both the Earth sectors (土方位).
The South West (坤卦) sector benefits from the presence of the School of the Arts and the School of Economics – both associated with the Fire element. As well as Parklane Shopping Mall, an Earth element structure. In classical Fengshui Principles, Fire generates Earth (火生土), creating a nurturing and protective cycle, while Earth strengthening Earth (土土比旺) further amplifies its Auspicious Energy.
Similarly, the North East (艮卦) sector is supported by LaSalle College of the Arts (Fire element) and SMU Residences (Earth element), forming the same harmonious elemental relationship – Fire nourishing Earth, and Earth reinforcing itself, resulting in a well-anchored and prosperous external Fengshui configuration.
To simplify, let us take a closer look at the South West sector. In IChing Fengshui, this sector represents the woman of the household – a nurturing, stabilising presence who fosters harmony, protection, and emotional grounding within the family. It is also closely associated with career support, positive client relationships, wealth accumulation and digestive health. In the annual Chinese zodiac cycle, it corresponds to the Goat and Monkey years.
It also represents our income earning capacity/ capability.
When the South West sector of a home is supported by favourable external landforms and features, the benefits are often tangible. The woman of the house may attracts benefactors and support in her career, the household enjoys a harmonious atmosphere, nourishment is abundant and income flows with greater ease.
Conversely, if the South West sector is compromised ie missing internally, poorly configured or exposed to Inauspicious features such as nearby sports facilities, police station or nature parks, these positive influences/ benefits may weaken or turned ‘challenging’.
The same Fengshui Principles extend to the remaining seven sectors of a home, each governing different aspects of life. (The significance of the North East sector which relates to the Ox and Tiger years, is equally important and can be explored further in my next article)
That said, Fengshui does not end with external landforms alone.
Internal Fengshui is equally critical. The shape of the unit, the efficiency of the floor plan and especially the floor level at which the home is located all play a defining role in how Auspicious Energy is received and retained.
In essence:
When both internal and external Fengshui are Auspicious – 吉中有吉, a true layering of good fortune.
When the external Fengshui is strong but the internal is less ideal – 凶中有吉, where supportive landforms continue to uplift.
When both internal and external Fengshui are unfavourable – 凶中有凶, resulting in compounded ‘challenges’.
True Fengshui excellence lies not in a single factor but in the harmonious alignment of landform, layout and orientation – subtle, powerful and enduring.
So how would you select the most Auspicious unit for yourself?
Let me walk you through the official floor plans…

With the correct choice (Fengshui) of unit selected, I would also expect the lady of the house and the 3rd son of the family to benefit ‘greatly’. The reason is because of the South West and North East sectors are very ‘well supported externally’ in Fengshui terms.
Many new condominiums in the market today suffer from weak or unfavourable External Fengshui. For obvious reasons, these cannot be named – but the implications are significant.
Such environments may quietly undermine well-being, strain relationships and create unnecessary impediments to career and wealth growth. When choosing a home, these unseen factors matter more than most would realise.
Your hard-earned financial resources deserve to be invested wisely.
