My previous article on Upperhouse @ Orchard Boulevard new condominium has briefly introduced iChing Fengshui Techniques and Principles. In this article I shall focus on how the South West, South and the North East sectors/ 方位 are extremely Auspicious to 8@BT. (The other 5 sectors are somewhat Auspicious as well)

In iChing Fengshui, the South West sector is also known as 坤卦，为五行土. South sector is known as 离卦， 为五行火 and North East sector is known as 艮卦，为五行土. (South West and North East sectors as Earth element and South sector as Fire element)

Why are these 3 sectors especially Auspicious for 8@BT?
The reason is because there are relevant nearby external features ‘directly’ supporting these 3 sectors, ie

Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School (Fire element), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Fire element) and the Sports Complex (Wood element) are all supporting the South sector/ 离卦, which is also known as an ‘external’ Fire element 方位.

Let’s take a quick look at the South West sector, just to simplify things and for easy reading. It’s also linked to career luck, good relationships with clients, wealth and even digestive health. In the yearly Chinese Zodiac cycle, it relates to the Goat and Monkey years.

When the South West area of your home is supported by Favourable external landforms and features, good things can happen, ie the woman of the house may gain important benefactors in her career, the home feels harmonious, meals are abundant and income flows steadily.

On the flip side, if the South West sector is missing, poorly designed or near a disruptive feature like an external sports facility, these Auspicious influences can turn challenging.

In simple terms:

1. When both internal and external Fengshui are Auspicious – 吉中有吉, a true layering of good fortune.
2. When the internal is less ideal but the external Fengshui is Auspicious – 凶中有吉, where the landform still supports and uplifts.
3. When both the internal and external Fengshui is Inauspicious – 凶中有凶,a complete chaos.
